Exploring the Impact of the Metaverse on Human Rights: Challenges, Threats and Perspectives

EXPLORANDO EL IMPACTO DEL METAVERSO EN LOS DERECHOS HUMANOS: DESAFÍOS, AMENAZAS Y PERSPECTIVAS

The Metaverse is a developing technology that promises to transform the digital world and is generating great interest in the scientific community. However, it is still a relatively unexplored field in the legal realm, which hinders adaptation to upcoming changes. Through the use of bibliometrics as a tool, the global production of scientific literature is analyzed and the evolution of themes and cognitive interests regarding the impact of the Metaverse on human rights is interpreted. The article concludes with the urgent need to promote legal epistemologies that contribute to interpreting the fast-paced reality of technology on fundamental rights and the protection of constitutional rights in modern democracies.
