This research has been developed at the National University of Education of Ecuador from a recreational space of a weekly newspaper of the province of Cañar called El Heraldo, where, starting in March 2014, mathematical challenges have been published week by week arraising citizen interest and that, in the authors' opinion, have great potential to support mathematics learning processes. These challenges, called MemoRetos, generate the interest of those who approach them and from that interest it makes it possible to explore alternatives that, with the help of minimal mathematical concepts, manage to overcome what was proposed, generating a feeling of success that significantly helps to build knowledge. It has been determined that the most appropriate way to solve MEMORIES is subject to heuristic processes where reasoning and the selection of alternatives are privileged. In this work, this process is presented with examples, hoping that in this way this way of acting that allows developing mathematical concepts from action is transmitted.
