La Revista Ingeniería, Matemáticas y Ciencias de la Información es una publicación semestral de la Corporación Universitaria Republicana, que busca presentar a la comunidad los avances y resultados de trabajos realizados por investigadores, así como nuevos planteamientos técnicos y revisiones documentadas sobre temas de actualidad en los diferentes campos de la ingeniería, ciencias básicas y educación.

EDITORIAL ETHICS AND EDITORIAL STATEMENT OF PUBLICATION BAD PRACTICES

The Engineering, Mathematics and Information Sciences Journal is committed to high ethical standards and takes all possible measures to prevent fraud and plagiarism in its publications. For this reason, all the parties involved in the editing and publication process, that is, the editor, the authors and the peer reviewers (reviewers and referees) of the Journal of Engineering, Mathematics and Information Sciences and the Republican University Corporation, responsible entity in charge of the publication of the contents, are under the same code of conduct and ethical behavior. Our editorial ethics statement is based on the Code of Conduct for Journal Editors (COPE)[1]

DUTIES OF THE PUBLISHER

Publishing Decisions: The editor has the authority to accept or reject the manuscript or return it to the authors so that they make certain modifications, based on the concept of the peer reviewers of the journal, also taking into account current copyright regulations. Impartial Review (fair play): The editor affirms that each manuscript received is evaluated according to its intellectual content, and the decision to publish it depends on its importance, originality and clarity, as well as the validity of the study and its relevance within of the scope of the magazine, without taking into account the sex, race, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, nationality or political ideology of the authors, making use of the guidelines indicated on this subject in the Political Constitution of Colombia. Manuscript Review: The editor initially reviews each manuscript, and may also make use of the appropriate means and applicable software, to verify the originality of its contents. Subsequently, the manuscript will be assigned for review to be sent to two peer reviewers, blind evaluation modality; the evaluators present their recommendations on the manuscript, to approve its publication in its current format, or else, its modification is necessary or they reject the publication of the document. Confidentiality: The editor and editorial staff must not reveal any information about a manuscript submitted for publication. The only ones with whom you will be able to exchange information will be with the author himself, peer reviewers, editorial advisers and members of the editorial committee and the scientific committee, whenever appropriate. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: The editor may not use unpublished materials described in the submitted manuscript for its own research without the prior written consent of the author.

DUTIES OF THE AUTHORS

Reporting Standards: Authors must accurately present their original research as well as objectively discuss its significance. The underlying data must be accurately stated in the article. An article must contain enough details and references to allow others to replicate the work. Fraudulent or willfully inaccurate claims constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable. Authorship: Authorship should be limited solely to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the submitted work. People who have contributed significantly to the study should be listed as co-authors. When there are others who have participated in certain specific aspects of the project, they must be recognized by listings as collaborators. The relevant author must also ensure that all authors and contributors have reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript and agree to submit it for publication in the journal. manuscript submitted and their inclusion as co-authors. Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is completely original, and if the authors have used the work of others, they must be duly cited. Applicable copyright laws and conventions must be followed. Copyrighted material must be reproduced only with permission and acknowledgment. Information Access and Retention: Authors are asked to provide raw information related to the document for editorial review, which should be publicly accessible if possible, and should in any event be prepared to retain such information for a period of reasonable time after publication. Multiple, Redundant or Coincident Publication: Authors may not simultaneously submit the same manuscript for publication in other journals or publications. Errors in Published Works: When the author of a manuscript discovers an error or significant inaccuracy in the publication of his own work, he must immediately notify the editor and help correct the document or withdraw publication as the case may be. Disclosure of Financial Support: All authors must disclose in their manuscript the existence of a financial or other conflict of interest that could interfere with the results of their manuscript. It must also disclose all sources of financial support for the project. Acknowledgment of Sources: The authors are obliged to acknowledge all data sources used in the research and cite the publications that influenced their research.

DUTIES OF THE PAIR EVALUATORS

Confidentiality: Peer reviewers must not reveal any information contained in the manuscripts assigned for review. All manuscripts must be handled confidentially. Acknowledgment of Uncited Sources: Peer reviewers must identify relevant papers that were not cited by the authors. A reviewer must notify the editor of any substantial similarity or overlap between a manuscript under review and other works that have already been published. Objectivity Standards: The review of each submitted manuscript is carried out objectively. The concepts of the peer reviewers must clearly express their points of view and support arguments. Personal criticisms of the author are considered inappropriate. Speed: If a reviewer believes that he does not sit down to review the manuscript within the designated guidelines, or within the stipulated time, he should notify the editor, to ensure the timeliness and thoroughness of the review. Disclosure and Conflict of Interest: The peer reviewer must guarantee that access to privileged information or ideas obtained through the review is strictly confidential, preventing its use for personal benefit. Peer reviewers may not consider manuscripts in which they may have conflicts of interest with their own work or competitive, collaborative, or other connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions related to the articles.

Cession of rights

The authors, who publish in this magazine, assign free of charge all the patrimonial rights of the author derived from the article in question in favor of said publication. By virtue of the assignment, the Assignee (The Republican University Corporation) is authorized to copy, distribute, publish and market the article subject to the assignment by any electronic or reprographic means, preserving the obligation to respect the moral rights of the author. The assignment granted conforms to the provisions of Article 30 of Law 23 of 1982.

Open access policy

This journal provides immediate free access to its content under the principle of making research freely available to the public, to foster greater global knowledge sharing. This journal does not make monetary charges for review, processing, evaluation or publication of articles (APC) to authors and/or institutions. The Republican University Corporation, its Directives, the Editor, the Editorial and Scientific Committees are not responsible for the opinion and criteria expressed in the content of the articles.
